So an s2 got towed into work the other day, another one of the techs got to working on it today. Pulled the plugs, one was pounded completly flat (wish i had a pic of that), covered with coolant, oil, etc etc. Did a compression test, 3 dead cylinders, number 1 cylinder had like 65 psi. Pulled the head, and heres what we found. (note: 03 sk2, only 20,000 miles)
![]() So metal chunks are supposed to be there right? ![]() ![]() So a valve spring was here: ![]() Holy broken valves batman!! ![]() ![]() ![]() I wish i got the chance to see their face when they got the price for an S2K long block ![]() |

He told the service writer he was just 'driving normal,'
but when the tow guy brought it in the other day, he said the guy told him he was getting on it. I dont know, the only way that damage would occur is from a down shift. He must have been cruising in 6th or something, went to drop it in 4th and hit 2nd or something. Hes trying to get it under warranty i hope they say ![]() |

i was at a local shop today and there was a guy in there that did the same thing. said he shifted into 2nd instead of 5th. how he pulled that off, i dont know. hes only driving a ls integra, never mind a s2k. his redline is no where near as high. he said the car wouldnt even idle normal.
the shop is gonna open it up tomorow, they're prolly gonna find the same shit. thats some crazy ish right there. |

First time I've seen an opened S2k motor before...interesting to see how much thicker the sleeve is on the outside compared to between the cylinders.
