No payment, no website.

No payment, no website.
She owns a small creative services company. She paid on time for the work that was done before so I didn't expect to have any trouble.

Yes, I have access to the website however it is one of her client's sites. They paid ontime to her so they really shouldn't be penalized or embarrassed but yes, I could do it.

As far as receiving the full payment before sending the files goes she was a friend of my boss at the time so the business relationship was a little more casual and I trusted her.

The good thing is she only lives about an hour away and I'm not afraid to start knocking on her door.

Well, start calling her, then start calling her client. If the client thinks that there's a possibility of the site coming down, then they can put pressure on her to pay you.

That's a possibility in the future but I'm trying to manage this through emails so there is a paper trail for legal reasons. Also, if I were to do that they could easily change the password. On top of that it gives her a reason to counter sue me. Throwing up a "this site has been removed due to non payment" page is like a last ditch effort.
