Got A New Job Today...

After doing IT Consulting/auditing work with KPMG for the last 10 months, and traveling most of that time living out of a suitcase each week, I decided I've had enough and resigned from there.

Got a job locally doing IT audit work, and the best part is: NO TRAVEL! Woohooo!

Travel sucks.

congrats. i don't have to travel much but it gets old quick when i do.

this old boy is about to be finding a new job or starting my own company.

How much travel have you been having to do?

Don't get me wrong, Per Diems are sweet, and I hit platinum status at Marriott hotels and American Airlines, but it just kills your system after a while

probably nothing compared to you.

- 3 trades show a year, one as an exhibitor, two as vistors (3-4 weeks total)
- make an out of state sales call about once a month
- day trips to Dallas or Little Rock twice a month

im pretty content with my job. i just need raise. im tired of giving $12/hr worth of work and only getting paid 8.50 for it. Just need a car before i get a different/second job. but congrats to you on the new job. best of luck to you in/at it.

kyle, you should just get a motorcycle w/ liability. there a dude in town that drives an old kawasaki ke100 he bought for like $600 and said insurance on it was dirt cheap.

motorcycle on this city. you gotta be nuts. if i dont get killed by bad drivers.. the potholes will deff get me. ive thought about getting one... but not here.. maybe if i lived in a more rural area with less people/traffic/better drivers and a little bit better roads.
