Well I havent been on since Feb or so but when this happend I couldnt help but take pics and have to tell all of yall.....
It all started on Nov 3rd (happens to be my b-day) when I am driving past my house at about 3 am after the bar closed to head to eat breakfast. When I shift from 2nd to 3rd the car starts to hesitate and lose power and makes a loud clunk. I know its gonna blow so why not just let it.... I have till 2007 or 100k miles on the warranty. I slam it in 4th and it takes off like a bat out of hell and then the enevitable (sp?) happens. Clunk bang bang crash crash....... at this time Im pulsating the throttle to keep it going and a large cloud of smoke fills the cabin of my '00 ex. I make it 1/4 mile down the road from where the noise started to the stop sign where the car ends up stalling. I crank it a couple of times and it starts and is louder than hell like there aint no exhaust hooked up... ha ha ha. Then it dies. I push it back to my house and park it, grab my bros VSM and go out to eat. On the way I see the trail of oil and a puddle where the car started. I couldnt help but laugh my ass off. Next morning I jack the car up to look at the pan of my Y8 and I have 2 holes the size of silver dollars in it about 4in apart right above the B pipe. The #1 piston is facing the back of the block in the pan by the back hole and the rod is riped from the piston spun backwards and jammed into the bottom of the piston. The wrist pin is all the way over by the front hole. The motor wont turn over now cause the crank is jammed against the rod and the rods on the bottom of the pan and between the main bearing cage. Ive got pics of all of this but my comp. is being retarded right now and wont upload but I will post pics soon. Now the funnyest part of this is when I bought this car brand new in 2000 with 7miles on it I told everyone it wouldnt make it to 100k probably around 75k and then blow and its only at 76270 now. I also pulled out a peice of the piston and the windage tray out of the holes. Oh and this was all off the bottle and no prior knocking. I hated the Y8 motor anywho and love extended warranties. ![]()

damn I hope you keep the body and do something else with it. I was a really big fan of the shaved taillight job you did.

your car looks great from the pic in your sig, sucks to see all that shit happen to it. I hope you keep the body and throw a new engine in there. Cause it looks great. I am interested to see what murat was talking about. Post up a pic of your shaved tails.

The car is actually going back to the dealer on monday for them to replace the motor. Really there aint much left of the motor that is any good, just the external parts. I may have a little trouble with getting the dealer to put in a new one but thats what extended warranties are for I guess. Best 2k Ive ever spent. 4th gear blown now motor, 3rd gear and rear window defrost, well worth 2k to me. As for running too much bottle on it... thats the funny thing it wasnt even on the bottle or even over reved at the time. Actually I aint ran the bottle for 6 months and only like twice this summer cause of dealing with issues with the DA. Seems like it could have been cause of bolt strech but no knocking or any of the other signs.... damn oil light never came on even after all of it was on the road and down the side of my car. Go figure....

Ok here are the pics for ya.... I made them smaller than they were to begin with but the might still be too big for some. If you look closely you can see the piston is in the hole on the left and the rod goes between the holes and on the right is where the wrist pin side of the rod is and the pins still in there. Also part of the main cap cage is broken right next to one of the bolts. Also the rod cap is MIA. And the rod end is jammed into the bottom of the piston.
