i know this question circles around the forum a lot but i need quick answers to solve my problem. my clutch is gone. i knew that it was worn and i did nothing about it and now i have almost none left and shifting is becoming a problem. to save tranny life i have decided to get this taken car of asap. there are three brands i was looking at Exedy, ACT, and ceterforce. i like exedy the most just because acura uses daikin cluthes and exedy is a branch of daikin. now my question is what setup do i get. so heres the low down

1)my car is a daily driver so i dont want a racing 6 puck disc, just something that has a better pedal feel and can get the job done. i want a lightwieght flywheel and a hd pressure plate.
2)im hoping to get about 180hp out of the motor after everything is said and done so i need something that can handle that and more.
3)i want something that is going to last a long time, not chatter like ceramettalic clutches do,has semi easy engagement, and can handle the occasional track day etc.

i need answers soon cuz im gonna get it put in either this week or next week.

Stage II would be kinda pointelss if you were gonna go for some mild horsepower. I'd say stick to the Stage I Exedy Clutch and call it a day, I've used it on a CRX, a Prelude, and a Civic and all of them feel great.

I second this thought!!!

Oh sorry here is why:

-I have yet to see any brand but ACT's NOT blow up
-I have yet to use a clutch that holds like ACT at any level of clutch they make...hell their "stock" feel clutch does feel like stock pressure but holds like most companies "stage II" clutches
-ACT is no more expesive usually but a whole lot better
-It's yellow, everyone knows yellow = hp

I run the heavy duty pressure plate, organic street performance disc. I also have the 7.5lb fidanza flywheel. Awesome combo.

how much do u think something like that is gonna run me, plus labor cuz i cant get something like that done by myself and my pops cant help cuz he just had back surgery.

the prices i got off the internet were like 460 for the clutch, pressure plate, pilot and throwout bearing and alignment tool

the flywheel came to about 260

and im figuring at a shop its gonna be about four hours so total i should be looking at like about a grand right?

I also am a fan of the ACT setup. I am running the HDSS clutch (heavy duty pressure plate and organic full face street disc) along with a ACT prolite flywheel. It has an awesome feel, engages very strong and has held up to many runs on nitrous without any signs of slippage.
