I dont know if all of you know but Ive mentioned in past threads that Im in search of a swap for my coupe, and Im Between A B18c1 or B18c5. Ive been getting pretty much consistant pricing from JDM importers and basicly looking at anywhere from $3500 for the c1 to $5,000 for the c5.

Do the sellers on Ebay that have these JDM motors live up to what they say for the most part? I've seen some motors go for decent prices, But of course its ebay, and we all have been done up the butt on there on time or another. Would ebay be something to consider in my search or no? I know seller ratings are a good way of knowing how well they transact w/ their customers, But not always.

what's your thoughts?

you guys have your points.. I guess I'll be going local then. Its just a bitch to find a reputable Co. that will handle any issues that might occur without dicking you.

The guy im going through lost his shop in Japan from dealing with stolen vehicles and stolen parts so im kind of Iffy about it, being all the shady shit that happened in Japan.

go post on H-T or HS that you are looking for a reputable company to buy your swap from in your area. i'd spend a little extra money to have a good shop behind the motor you buy instead of some dude selling them out of his garage.

http://www.jspecautosports.com/

i'm going to order my swap from there sometime in the next month (hopefully) so i can let you know how that goes. they have pretty much every engine and pretty good prices. also they're almost all full swaps as opposed to motor only which i saw on a lot of other sites. i found out about the site from hondaswap.com's links list.

Look on honda-tech for sale forums...there's always people in the bay area selling motors and such...take a truck, pick it up. Even then though, you never know what you're getting. Could start it up and have a rod knock, and you'd never know.

Doesnt sound to bad brian, Im gonna check it out and dig up some pricing and shipped rates. I definately am ruling out motors from private owners..not touching that kinda shit. As far as the place by where I live, They're called www.jdmjapanparts.com They are a business not private that I do know. Thanks for the heads up guys.
