I need to get rid of my carbon fiber hood, and shipping the hood is my only option. How would I go about shipping this hood when I don't have any packing materials, and the only thing I have is the hood itself? Has anyone done this before?

some foam or bubble wrap
cheap shipping company!

I shipped my fenders to someone on here very cheap last year

I wish, costed me $68 to ship my OEM spoiler to buyer on ebay.. That place is expensive regardless. Plus shipping CF is never a good thing, being the fact that for the most part its likely to crack.

Ive heard of 1 in every 3 hoods shipped crack on the way to the destination. I say sell it w/ a local pick up ad. You would be playing it much safer by doing so.

The UPS store is expensive, but they pack and ship the item out,all you do is take it there and drop it off to them.
I only use them if i ship big items out(rims, seats etc..),all my other itmes are shipped out USPS Priority.Cheap and fast!

Im sure he could save a few bucks by going with them, but its still not a safe call for Carbon Fiber on a delivery truck imo.

Hoods run fairly cheap now too, Im seeing them new for $265. Some w/ minor defects here and there even cheaper.

also if you do it this way make sure they know the hood can easily crack and to take out the insurance on it.

Yes este, they came to me

Well I tried putting this hood on ebay with local pickup, and 132 people viewed the hood, but since it was local pickup, none of those 132 people were close enough to me if they were interested.

Plus, the buyer would pay shipping on the hood, and of course I would insure the hood more than what it is worth, just incase something did happen to it.

Selling the hood isn't going to be a problem, its just shipping it that will be the biggest hassle. I'll look into the UPS store after the holiday.
