here's a lil story for CL...

had a decent day today, got to work late, manager let me leave early because i had too much time on the clock this week already. so i'm driving along on my way back to my place on one of the busiest streets in Savannah, Georgia...yes georgia

(i apologize to those who drive well and are from this state here on CL, but georgia has some of the worst drivers i've ever seen, i've had too many near misses while living here)

anyway driving along, 12:30pm or so eastern time with medium traffic, traffic going like 50-55 in a 45, 3 lanes to use...

guy in a pickup truck decides to cross over in my lane while i'm right next to him. this has happened before to me they usually correct themselves, but this guy kept coming, he nearly hits me, i swerve to the next lane as he swerves back, but i cut my wheel too quickly, i start to fishtail, so i counter steer, but again too much, wheels lock up, my car gets sideways in a three lane street with traffic coming at me, believe it or not i wasnt scared, only thing i could do was hope my car stopped and in one piece with me in it alive. while i spun, i was starring at my hood and the front bumper of the truck that caused this whole thing, never looking out my window at two more lanes of traffic coming my way. i finally come to a stop with a smell of tire rubber in the air. a car or two miss my back end and everyone else stops in time.

all i could say was thak you GOD. straightened up and continued my drive, i did look at the driver in the pickup, but he didnt have the balls to look back at me after the whole thing.

and after the fact, i noticed it was a company truck , and thought to myself damn i wish he would have hit me i would have been paid, but thinking about it now i'm much more glad it happened the way it did, who knows what the other outcome would have been.

Damn, I dont know how you kept your composure.. I'd fuckin flip out. At least your ok though, fuck any amount a cash you could make out of it.

You should have gotten the name of the Company and plate number so you could report him to superiors, but eh your cool thats the main thing..

What were weather conditions like?

i guess from the shock of the whole thing, i didnt even think about bitching out that dude for what he did, i was just glad everything went well considering the circumstances.

and it is dry summer weather today...so that definitly was a plus too.

My road rage would have came into play a little in this situation. Thats just me, but I probably would have followed him and let him know how pissed I was. I had something like that happen to me a couple weeks ago, but the guy ran from me, so all I could do was just continue my drive home. I'm glad you and your car are ok. Be careful out there, there's crazy, non-driving assholes out there that you have to be on the lookout for every second.

dude thats some pretty fucked up shit that the guy didnt even look at u after. i woulda gotten his info, screamed at him and brakes checked him for the next ten miles. fucking assholes, ppl in nj are even worse. they dont even look when they change lanes on the god damn parkway. i hate ppl like that. atleast everything is cool with the car and u tho.

i hate when that shit happens but your right they usually either correct themselves or ur supposed to slam on ur brakes and maybe just let them clip ur front end. Good work on not getting hurt though.
