I agree with those statements right there, america is on its way to another depression, but look at it like this....when clinton was in office our economy was on top of its game, it was probably the best its been in a long time. unenployment rate was VERY low, the country was doing well economically, partially the reason being democrats aviod war as much as possible. Now as soon as Bush came into office again and fired all the democratic cabinet and brought in his own people, the shit went down hill fast. Like someone said earlier in this post 3 summers has past and gas has risen 2 dollars a gallon, thats almost gouging, its insane.

And I also think pouring our countries money and raising taxes so we can go into iraq and build them a democracy is the most stupid thing ive ever heard of since...well nothing. Thier way of life cannot support a democracy, why try to change something when it will just be tossed aside? We have been over in iraq for almost 10 years? possible more who knows. But get a clue, it ain't gonna happen just let them bomb themselves and let them kill each other, our americans dont need to die for something we dont even care about.

many of these ppl are republicans[/b]
Republicans suck hands down. Im not taking either sides but I def wouldnt want to be a republican. I mean look whats happened to our country every time a republican president has been in office. Nothing but bad things, war, shitty economies, etc, etc.

I think bush is a figure doll for his daddy i think 70% of his desicions are based upon his fathers advice and half of his own stupidity. Yes the president doesn't control every aspect of what goes on in congress but he does have alot of hearsay over alot of things.

Im done with my ranting, I think bush should be assassinated, and I personally think its gonna happen to him if our country doesn't turn around sometime soon.

talking about if a serious hurricane was to hit new orleans water was predicted to be above 30 feeet high with the levees keeping it all in.* people knew the vulnerability of new orleans for years and nothing was done.* so there are more people to blame than you think.

yes finally, they have known about this problem for YEARS. new orleans and the surrounding area sits 30 ft below sea level. So guess what so when storm surge comes, esp ones that are 25 feet, so whats 25 + 30 feet + 55 feet of water. That could pose as a serious problem and yet they continued to build and do nothing about it but put some dinky ass leavy up. Good job. Thier luck just finally ran out and they got a direct hit. This happens to florida every 3 or 5 years. I mean look at andrew, if andrew would have hit FL now, it would have been the same amount of damage and cost.

On the subject of not getting aid to the problem areas, how do you expect to get it all in? It takes time to get trucks into all the areas that need it, due to all the debris and rubble, and of course things are being done, but people just expect lightning quick results. We are doing all that we can, and things will get done, but we all just have to team up and do what we can... If I didn't have anything to do for the next few days, I'd personally go down and help, not even fucking kidding, but I can't. We just cleaned out our house, and we filled 6 trash bags full of old clothes and sleeping bags to send down there, b/c a truck's coming by tomorrow... I just pray that those people will be alright... my heart goes out to anyone who has family down there/who lives there.

all i got to say is that if i was warned a major hurricane was on it's way, i would get my ass to safety, no matter if i had $50,000 in my pocket or $5. I'd find a way. IMO people were idiots to stay put and try to ride it out. personal belongings are not that important. you grab the few things that cant be replaced like pictures and pets, and get the hell out.

This is exactly what I am talking about, I dont care how many people like him or what not... I think he is a shitty president, and no I didnt vote in this election, and I wont vote, until I find a president that I think is worthy of the possition. I just dont think that there is enough helping being done for us. Those people lost everything. They are our own people.

One thing you need to realize is that it take 4 years after a bill is put into place for you to see the ecomoic change, so say in 4 years everything is great and up to par, it's not because of the person in office. It's because of the person in office before them, So if you want ot say that everything was good until bush took office, then basicly your saying the Clinton fucked up in his second term and bush had to deal with it. But i will agree that we as a nation aren't focusing on what we should be, Placing funds and support in places that aren't in as much need as others. As my favorate quote says
"Hows the president gonna fix the world when he ain't fixed home yet"

The big problem is that congress was not in session. That's why it's taking so long, because the Pres. doesn't have full authority to just "fix" the problem.[/b]
The problem is not the president. the problem is the organization in control of our national emergencies:

Enter Fema

And along the lines of:

The problem was the last few hurricanes were said to be huge, but then ended up being not a problem, so peeps were figurin katrina was the same.

i agree. if the news says, "Water's gonna drown you all, get the hell outta there" i'm bookin for high ground. not sittin in a bowl 40' below sea level.

And yes, it is completely stupid to shoot at the helicopters that are trying to give aid. makes you wonder about the mentality of some of the people in the south. ... O.o

Somewhat have to agree with that. They knew about if for about 1 week, therefore giving them time to plan. You can get pretty far away with any mode of transportation within a week. If it were me,i would not have stuck around to ride it out.

saw something on the tv earlier about a few more countries coming to our aid. and thats great, i applaud these ppl, but, this aid needs to go to the right place. i dont wanna find out down the road that some of the money being raised for the hurricane victims is gettin swapped to go to either the war or to some other country.

and again i dont blame bush for the hurricane nor for the war, but i am very concerned about his actions, and his cabinets actions, and anyones actions that can directly affect my, yours, and america's well being.

for the ppl that are saying that they should have gotten out when they knew about it in the first place i agree. they should have left, but i also understand that its not just that easy. its hard to come to terms with something like this. take for instance your 55 years old, you and you wife are on your last mortgage payments on your home, your finally where you wanna be in your life, and you have worked very hard to get there. now ppl tell you that all you have ever worked for, your home, your vehicles, your possesions, your life, are being rudely interupted for some damn natural disaster. your not gonna wanna leave what u have spent so much time on something to build.

and yes, there are some ups to the current situation, but, the downs are def outwieghing the ups. this causes bush to look horrible. and honestly he hasnt proven the public opinion wrong lately.

ive got more to say but i dont feel like saying it right now
