Hondas arent concerned about hp figures if they were, they would produce a fully tuned spoon sports model from the get go. but they dont. they are more concerned about keeping the air clean and hugging some trees.

I hate the car, the motor isnt gonna matter cause the car is going to weigh a billion pounds and it looks like poop. the only thing i really like is the center mounted tach.

C'mon, tell us how you really feel.

I don't know about Honda not being concerned about hp figures. How do you justify their racing heritage if they weren't?

If you are only talking about the Civic, then let's not lose site to what a Civic is: an entry model in their lineup. Something to get you around town, while doing good on gas, and reliable. Then you have the group of Gen Y buyers in or recently out of high school who don't make a ton of money but want a fun little car at a decent price w/out going Acura.

This is where the Si comes in.
Ok how are you going to back up honda racing heritage with a honda civic SI? The s2000 would be a better choice. I mean yes honda does have a badass indy car and what not, but most of honda's racing focus is in motorcycles. I mean honda engineering is awesome that they can produce almost 160hp out of a SOHC engine. But still whats that heavy tC wanna be gonna run at the track bone stock? 16 flat? woohoo. I love my civic, I just dont like where honda is going. I would rather see the legend max come out, if thats ever gonna happen.[/b]
Trust me, I know exactly what you mean.

But the SI, at $18k-19k with 160HP is a peppy car for not too much change. Obviously the SI is not a racing-car from the ground up, but it's representative of Honda's racing background.

Remember before the S2000 came out, I remember the SI coupe being the Honda sports car people wanted.

It's 6 of 1 I guess. Kind of like the SRT-4. It's a fast car, but still a Neon.

or not

SRT4's turbocharged and intercooled 2.4-liter double overhead camshaft (DOHC) 16-valve 4-cylinder engine produces an impressive 230 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. Producing that kind of power from a 2.4-liter engine is one thing, but few could make it work day-in and day-out like SRT4.

The new engine is definitely badass.

Now in the dealers... (old news)

Sedan specs and info:
http://automobiles.honda.com/models/model_...erDetected=True

Coupe specs and info:
http://automobiles.honda.com/models/model_...ame=Civic+Coupe

Kinda cool- the DX/LX/EX all get the same engine!

look up MOPAR PERFORMANCE. How many honda dealerships sell SPOON parts? They are few and far between. I have seen some though
