so ill try to keep it short, basically im driving home from work tonight at around 9:30, live in northern NJ by the way, and theres deer everywhere and i stop for a deer. deer crosses the road and i continue on my way going slower then usual cuz of the ridiculous amount of deer out. im doing about 45, in a 50, when a random deer makes its casual jog into the front passenger side of my car. now i slowed down, yea maybe to about 40, and dominated this deer, like it went flying. so i get out and its dead, i then proceed tho kick the everliving shit out of it. like field goal kicker style. i get home, like 2 min away, and check my car out. damage consists of cracked bumper, dented fender, mounts on pass side light broken, and a scuffed hood and fender. hood is in good condition based upon the hit. tomorrow im gonna check under the hood, but didnt see any damage, it was dark. so basically its looking like a good 500 to 700 dollars worth of damage, mainly cuz of paint.
so now im left with a choice, fix it, and get it painted-basically the lame ass decision or go with a front end conversion and go JDM ITR style. main thing here is gonna be cost. now just fixing it is gonna be like 200 bucks for me, i got the hook up thru a body shop my cousin owns and i am good with body work. or try and find some used or cheap aftermarket fenders, ITR ofcourse, a cf ITR hood, lights, bumper, bumper support, and all the odds and ends i would need for a conversion. lemme know what u guys think. Cliffs- -driving home from work -deer runs into pass front of car -kicked deer repeatedly -damage results are about 500 bucks -thinking of JDM ITR front end conversion -thoughts? |

Conversion baby! It will be more expensive, but if you have the urge, might as well feed it. How much more is the conversion going to cost? And were you planning on doing that down the road anyway?

heh the conversion should run you about 1500 for the parts if you can find them used and beat up a little and the repairs will cost you 200?

Damn, that sucks man. I guess it's not as bad as your car being stolen though. Did you really kick the shit out of it after you killed it?

yea i definetly kicked the deer. i hate those fucking things. theres so many of em around here, and after all the damage that ive seen them do, i cant stand em.
im figuring a conversion to cost me about 800bucks. good part is i have two painting jobs lined up for december so all the parts can be purchased and then held onto over the winter. im making 700 off of the one, and prolly 600 off the other. only thing thats gonna cost me a pretty penny is the cf hood, if i even go cf. paint will be courtesy of my cousins shop so he will give me a good deal. im thinking if i get the whole front end repainted, y not the whole car. i dunno if i would wanna go black or a dark blue or what. i had a couple ?'s about the conversion tho i would assume that the ITR fenders fit the same as the USDM integra fenders, mainly im conserned around the doors. theres gotta be fab work, but i have remover fenders, bumper, and hood before, then replaced, and it wasnt that hard. is it gonna be more difficult then that? who makes a good conversion kit? |

repairs will cost alot more than 200. i payed 850 for a new hood and windhshield after i slammed a deer. i didnt even bother repairing the cracked front bumper. and that was the cheapest price around here.
