Ok so this dude want to sell his CAI for his EP hatch, its an injen CAI racing division or some thing like thatit retails for like almost $250 or more he wants to sell it for $100. but its scratched up and one of the scratches seems pretty deep he says the dealer did not put the intake pipe back on properly, so I would like to know what you guys thinkof this should I buy it? also its a CAI so im affraid of having water get into my engine should I just get a short ram for the time being?
or just not bother with either of that??
here's a pic

here's a closer pic of the scratch:

the pipe is scratched up but if any have seen a CAI in a 2002 hatch you would know its a tight fit.
any input would be appreciated

Well you can easily sand down those scratches and repaint it with ceramic paint and make it look a whole lot nicer.

if you're not going for show, i'd suck up the scratches and use the extra money for other stuff. as long as it doesn't affect the performance. i sanded mine down and painted it black.

as far as the water issue goes, you shouldn't have to worry to much about it. in order for it to mess up your engine, you have to drive through a lake. the entire filter, or most of it atleast, has to be submerged in water. due to gravity, it sucks up air much easier than water. little puddles won't hurt it, just drive carefully on rainy days.
