well i was driving down the road the other day. And had a friend of mine from school in the car and he was like i wanna see what your car can do. I said ok, so i got it out on the road romped on it in 1st gear, hit it into 2nd and bam, it felt like something broke. This is where i said oh shit. So it started puttering and jerking like a broken axle or something. No big deal. Luckly i was like 2 minutes from my teachers shop and he towed it back to his shop. So i wait like 2 hours for a bay to come open and put the car on the lift to see whats going on. What do i find? I crack the size of my thumb on the bottom of my bellhousing right where the spider gears are....what a bitch. So now im looking for a tranny. And no one sells just the trannies. Car is pisssing me off. Im about to sell it. Just thought i would vent.

"And no one sells just the trannies"???

You serious? Even junkyards? When I cracked my pressure plate in three different spots, at first I thought the tranny was gone so I started calling local yards. I found a 2000 EX tranny for $300 that was mint. The car it came from had rearend damage, so the tranny was still intact. Once the tranny was off and I saw it wasn't the tranny at all, I just returned it. But still, you should be able to find trannies like you would find any other part. That is, if you are considering junk yards.

Just look around on thepartstrader and what not. If you have the cash, go with an ITR tranny. The cheapest way to go is with an LS tranny, but a b16 with ls transmission is very slow.

The GSR has longer gearing...higher top speed, slower acceleration.

have heard the b16A's have probs with their differentials. Allot of people on clubsi have said they had broken theirs. As longn as your governer is removed you should be able to hit higher top speeds with the GSR.
