i am not really familiar with nissan engines
, but i have a good freind of mine whos 91 2 door sentra just blew up on him. the body is in great condition. if we were to swap the engine, what would be a good choice to get some power? would it really be worth swapping the engine or should we just junk the car? if anyone has another web site to check out about this that would be great...... thanks in advance. Matt

Eric is only half way right, you want the sr20det but you dont want the RWD drive silvia engine. Obviously since this is going into a FWD vehicle. the sr20det out of a silvia is cheap, but the sr20det that came in the bluebirds and GTI-R's is a tad bit more money and work involved, but it will be worth it, youll have more power!

OR just the stock SR20DE that came in the SE-R in the US, if he isn't looking for a turbo, I believe it still makes 140 hp.

How is it that some people put the SR20DET into some usdm nissans?? arent the 240's here in the states FWD? I know the SR20DET is a RWD so is there a lot of work? Ive always been interestes in 240's.

Nope. My boy has a 98 240SX (s14.5) and we put a sr20det blacktop (99+) s15 sap in it. All 240sx in the USA are RWD. From the 90-94 (s13) the 95-97 (s14) and the 98-99 (S14.5) all of these cars have great potentioal on the sr20det swaps. As for the sentra. You can't go with a sr20det because of the RWD. go with a sr20de it's FWD but not boosted stock. But they handl added boost very well. |
