None of that helps on the dyno....

dub, thats what im thinking dude, i was suprised as hell when it got up there and put down those numbers. The motor has about 80K on it. BTC timing on the car is 12 degrees if im correct, we advanced it a couple degrees, made sure everything ran right, this is with the 8lb flywheel, n1 crank pulley, and engine mounts (which dont make a difference) and yeah he did make sure the rear ratio was calculated in with the fact that 3rd is less off from 1:1.

What im thinking is, I think the person whoever had this motor in the teg before me, something may have happened to the bottom end, and had it rebuilt for some reason .30 over. thats the only logical explaination I have.

Try doing a 4th gear pull and see what happens, it's almost a 1:1 ratio. Good numbers nonetheless. As for your timing, I think stock timing is 16 deg. BTDC +/- 2 deg...most people go to 18-19...I need to get my hands on a timing light and see where mine is at....it's been a while.

That is definitly a high number for a b18c1. My JDM b18c w/ better exhaust manifold and higher compression did 147/115 and the shop said that was more than most stock gsr's put down. I wouldn't be suprised that you dont' have type r cams or something in there. Either way, the car is looking good man.

Andy, yeah you corrected me its 16 degrees, but i think mine is bumped to 19. We and a buddy of mine took off the valve cover to look to see if I had any Valvetrain work and sure enough the cams are stamped p72. No type R cams for me. like I said before my guess is my block is bored .30 over.

No the only way is to pull the head and measure the bore size.
