Ok, well first off let me say this. This story is 100 percent true to the best of my knowledge and memory. I'm am not joking around and I tried my best to give the most detailed, and accurate portrayal of what took place a few nights ago. I copy pasted this from Turbod16.com, where I post much more frequently.
This evening, comming back from a local hang out spot, I was turning left to the road that leads back to my neighborhood and I got a lead green. As I was comming half way through the intersection, I saw a nasty looking red NSX. I was stunned and almost caused an accident with the car behind me. Anyways, I was thinking to myself, Damn I'd love to run one of those even though it would be a terrible loss..so when I saw him fly past me I started following him. You could tell this guy was definitly an aggressive We come to a red light and I get behind him, since there was a car next to him in the right lane. He immediately floors it off of the light, hits around 65 then slows down.. so I catch up to him and as I'm driving upI yell "Hey wanna run" the passenger yells "Please stop" and I was like huh? cause at the time (and even right now) since I didn't know what he meant. So he yells again...by this time we are slowing down to a red light. and the driver points forward..but unfortunately for me the light is at the bottom of a hill going upwards. We are at the light for about 1/2 second..and then we go ..immediately the nsx jumps out 3/4's of a length..but I keep up with him. (Honestly he's shifted 1-2 and 2-3 around 6000) I hear him in third gear and he's near redline...I've caught up with him, and am losing by about 1/2 car length..he shifts to 4 and I begin to pull..now we are going about 75 maybe 80..and around the corner he sees traffic and begins to slow down.. there's a car in my lane so I get ahead of him since he slowed down and get around the car again... I'm waiting for him to get up next to me but he just speeds by...and contintues to blast it til I'm guessing about 100mph. Needless to say, I was disapointed with the NSX's acceleration..even though I didn't kill him. I'm not hating on the car, just giving a first hand account of a street encounter even though I try to avoid most street racing when I can. Cliff notes: Automatic D16Y8, Greddy turbocharged/apexi intercooled, afc injectors fmu, smashed in downpipe keeps up with an NSX on 7 psi, 5 during vtec. OTHER KILLS IS300 -STOCK ANOTHER RSX-S-THESE THINGS ALWAYS WANT TO RUN H23 ACCORD SPRAYING SOME KIND OF NITROUS OTHER LOSES BASICALLY STOCK S/RT 4 |

Sounds good man, I'm surprised your auto sohc is doing that good. Did you hit the track yet?

just fyi the top of 3rd gear for an nsx is somewhere in the neighbor hood of 92+ mph(i know i top my third gear out at 87 at 8k) so the guy prolly cant drive...not hating, good kill though. your car seems to be runnin pretty good, keep it up.

I call BS. No way an automatic SOHC is going to hang anywhere close to, let alone beat an NSX. I think they would even have trouble hanging with an RSX-S or IS300. I've never seen an auto SOHC run faster than low 15's.

No I haven't hit the track yet. I'm hoping to go two weekends from now. My car is in the shop right now having a new 2.5 inch DP fabricated and the Auto transcooler hooked up (Im just lazy and dont feel like putting it on myself..hehe).
I've gotten to over 100 in D3..even though I don't like going that hard on the car. The driver could have been an idiot, but I'm pretty sure he was just shifting low in 1st and 2nd gear. It wasn't a kill, but it might have been had it been two weeks from now. Plus, the track isn't the street..Racing 0-80mph almost definilty won't net you a full 1/4 mile, and like I said, he probobly would have pulled me..but when cut off, I was only 1/4 length behind him..nose to nose. And you can call BS all you want. That's perfectly fine. The dyno sheets don't lie though. Linkity link I'm going on the dyno week after next so I'll post the graph then. |

really a nsx at 93mph???? my all motor single tops out at 93-94 mph in third...

yeah i did a little bit more research the top of third in the nsx is somewhere around 102-105. btw an nsx turns in low 13's in the quarter.

My best friend has a 3 series BMW with Pirellies, and is the best shifter I have ever scene. He got smoked by a NSX on great Seneca highway; I was in the car when it happened. I?m not saying that the 3 series is the fastest car in the world, but it wasn?t even close.
Its really pretty interesting, we went back the next day and the nsx left a nice trail.
