Srt-4 Experience

Well this is my first experience in the street with one of these cars.I have read a lot about them and they seem like theyre lil fast bastards..

This particular SRT-4 is a friends ride..A 2005 model with the LSD tranny. This car ran stock a 14.1@100mph and dynoed stock 226whp with 245lb/ft..this was with just the tails off..

Now the car has the Mopar Stage 1 upgrade and a CAI from the turbo(according to mopar the stage 1 will give te car a 10-15whp bump and 20lb/ft)

So we are both at our mechanics shop and we were just talking..My mechanic takes my car for a test drive and the SRT-4 owner gets in the passenger seat..After returning from the drive the guy was kind of impressed on how the civic moves so he says "We should do some pulls against each other to see how close both cars run to each other"..so i get on my civic and he gets on his SRT-4..Me thinking that i was gonna get raped..

SO we hit up the highway and i tell him that were gonna go from a 2nd gear pull, he agrees...we line up an floor it..2nd gear we stay side to side, my civic i spinning tires like crazy and 2nd gear goes out in a breeze...shift to third gear and i start to pull on him 1, 2, 3 cars...shift to 4th and put 2 more cars on him..had to brake cause of traffic ahead..

I thought he had just let off the gas so we U turn and tell him lets go again..this time i tell him to floor it first, we start the pull in 2nd gear..He floors it, i floor it and in 2nd gear he pulls 1/2 car ahead of me, i shift into third and once again i started to pull inmediatelly on him..Basically same result.I had him by 3 cars at the time of shifting to 4th gear..

We went back to the shop and i just couldnt keep my smile hidden. Very Happy

Cliff Notes: Sohc Non Vtec pulls like a raped ape on a 2005 SRT-4 with Stage 1 upgrade. Had him by good 5-6 cars Twice

What is your car,mods,specs??

As much as i hate Neons,i am gonna throw the BS flag.
It does not seem possible,but i suppose ANYthing is possible
I say the Neon driver sucks goat ballz.

But i bet you in top end the neon would have you and i don't think you can pull a low 14 in your car?But you have given us no stats on your civic so i dunno.

I believe you. I've seen civics do things that i never thought were possible. I was riden in my friends modified 5.0, and we run into a crx. We went from a second gear role, and the crx hung the hole time. I asked what he had in there, he said just a sohc motor with intake and exhaust. That thing was a screamin demon, it rode pretty fast. So you never can tell what a civ. is gonna do.

He's making well over 200 whp in his turbo civic...I don't call BS.

That is all the info given on the civic,how the hell are we supposed to know?It would be nice to know the WHOLE story,he gives us all the info on the SRT but nothing on the civic? Sure makes sense to me.

Call all the BS u want...it doesnt hurt me

1- Setup is D16Y7 motor,Stock head,Vitara pistons,Z6 Intake Manifold,Y8 tranny with LSD, T3 Super 60 turbo,LoveFab Manifold,Turbonetics Racegate,Walbro 255hp fuel pump,450 DSM,Intercooler,3" downpipe and exhaust..Running Uberdata on a P06 ECU..Not fully tuned yet..just an "eye" quick street adjusts.

2.I am going to the dyno Tomorrow to tune the car because last time i went to the dyno the Turbo Blew..On that time i could only do a couple of baseline runs(around 5 pulls) and i hit 237whp with 198lb/ft(measured in 4th gear) on the shot turbo..That was at 1 bar of boost.. When i raced the SRT-4 i was at 1.2 bar(18PSI). The SRT-4 was at 16 PSI

3. The day BEFORE i went to the dyno for the first time, when the turbo blew i trapped in the 1/4mile 103MPH (Actually the time was 14.4@103 with 2.45 on the 0-60ft)That was with around 217whp.

he only called bs because you only told him it was a non vtec sohc civic (leaving out that it was turbocharged).
