ok now that i have got rid of most of my stuff in the classifieds I can hop on the bandwagon and get some more goodies for the ep hatch:
the options that I have are as follows: 1. spoon sports springs $300.00 + shipping ???? about the drop on this but It cant be too much. 2. HR race springs: $149.00 + ship. 2.30"/7.5" drop 3. HR sports springs: $149.00 + ship. 1.75"/1.50"drop 4. Spoon sports carbon/kevlar k20 sparkplug cover $125.00 shipped. I need the drop but I dont want to have to replace my shocks too soon, would the 1.75" drop kill my shocks? I've heard that as long as ot stays under 1.5 I will not need to replace anything so how would the 1.75 drop do? any help/opinions would be appreciated. --este |

$125 for a sparkplug cover? Ouch, just take a marker and write Spoon on the one you have! Seriously, that's a rip off. You can buy the whole vavle cover for that on ebay (probably not for a K series though, it was just an example)! I've been doing a lot of research on suspension because it's my next mod and from what I'm seeing Spoon is just way to overpriced. Basically they can do this because they are a true JDM company so they know you'll want them. But for half the price the HR's are a good setup, and for right around that price you could get some Tien's too.
I would always say go race springs if you don't mind the things involved like legal issues (phuck 'em), conditions of your roads/where you live, and such. But remember that race springs, like many race parts are designed for track use, so street springs are probably the better route. But then again they're just springs and people go lower than that on the streets anyways, so it probably wouldn't matter. Or you could just do adjustable. I would have thought that if you are picking a height and staying with it that you should just buy springs but from what I'm hearing there is really no difference between straight springs or adjustable ones (though I still don't believe this). |

well I anted the spoons just because, however they are a bit overpriced, so I will more than likely end up with the h&r on street setup. I had my dx lowered way too much(over 2 inches) and man that sucked, the ride was shitty as hell.
The sparkpug cover, I thought would be a nice touch but I have since decided to not get it, like you both mentioned its just a over priced and I feel like i'd be better off spenfding my money elsewhere. |

i've had 1.85/1.5 for about 5-6 months and my shocks are just now starting to wear out i think. when i raise and lower the car i hear creaks =P. then again i have to go over a 2 speed bumps twice (=4) per day to get in and out of school. you just have to get used to a really bouncy ride

The H&R's sound like your best bet. I hear Eibach's are nice also.

H&R sports....awesome springs. I know a lot of people that have them, including myself, and love em...a lot switched to them over previous setups like GC and Skunk coilovers, etc.

You should get the performance shocks that have a lifetime gaurentee, like koni, tokico, or kyb,...not sure about h&R I am sure they do they are a great company. That way even if they are starting to wear out due to height which they shouldn't they will replace them for free. as far as springs I hear eibach sportline are lower than their pro's , and I hear they have a lifetime gaurentee on those as well.

Yeah, I had neuspeeds on my sedan but I want something new..the drop on the race kit is a bit much and the drop on the sportlines...just doesn't seem to do it for me.
The H&R's look nice they give a really nice stance IMO, im still debating on getting them but im constantly leannig back and forth form that other goodies. they seemtpo be the best bang for the buck cant beat them at $149 +shipping ![]() |
