I found this pic on another forum and I am curious to know what will this do to my suspension if this was happen to my car? how big of a problem will this turn into?
and what kind of drop would create a problem like this for me? I have a 2002 SI hatchback nothing much other than 16" rims and low profile tires, blah, blah, blah... ![]() I guess im asking for help on how to avoid this from some of you suspension guys. thanks. --este |

Wow, that doesn't look good. suspension geometry is very important, a slight difference in angles can screw up the way your vehicle handles dramaticly. Think of people that lower their vehicle TOO much, changing the geometry of your suspension that much (for the sake of a lowered stance) also decreases the handling potential of your vehicle. In any case if it doesn't screw with the handling then you are putting more stress on that bolt than Honda intended.. this could lead to premature wear/breakage.

what exactly are we looking at? I don't see anything bent because you're looking at a joint, hence the rubber boot. some play is ok, and I really don't think that looks that bad. Have someone turn your wheels while you look at that piece on your own car and you will see just how much those joints really do flex.
however, I do agree with what Micah said about putting unnecessary stress on things, and I am not a fan of lowering cars unless it's done correctly. |

I think the pic is of the contol arm that is at the bottom of the strut, the lower end, where the bottom of the spring sits. there the wheel/rotor assmeblyconnects to the steering thingy...but I may be wrong, Im no tech guy.
