Wouldnt taking some air pressure out of your tires make them worn more easily? What sort of psi are we talking about here?

when i first got my eibach springs, the ride was very stiff. little bumps made loud bangs when i went over them. it took a few thousand miles for the springs to break themselves in.

You might actually need to UP the firmness in your shocks... if you're underdamping your springs, you could be setting yourself up for more body movement and oscillation than your normal spring/shock setup, and that will make your car feel like shit. Most springs/shocks these days don't really need a "settling in" period.
