Hey!

Im from Australia and was wondering what you guys think of 205/50/17 on a Civic hatch? would it just be a matter of adjusting the suspension to make it look good or does this look funny?

Currently i have 205/40/17 but the ride is pretty bad.. i just wanted abit more cushion. Thanks for the help in advance!

On a 205/40/17 setup your ride shouldn't be bad. What is your air pressure at? And is your suspension stock?

A 17" on a civic will give you some unwanted wheel gap, so it may look a little funny to you. But you can both improve ride quality and appearance with some new suspension.

205/50/17 is way to tall for your civic. i had 205/40/17s on my 95 coupe and the ride was just fine.

If you need a softer ride go with 16", 50 series is huge on 17's. You don't want to look like you came from a off road track.

Thanks all for the help!! My current suspension is cheap arse adjustable springs with standard shocks.. Shocks would cost me around 800 and since i had to change tires sooner or later i thought i might just do the tire thing and save money. Could i negotiate a 205/45 instead? hehe But i must admit i do love the 205/40/17 look!! Thanks guys!

his prices are a little skewed but australia's exchange rate is close to canada's. they still shouldn't cost you more than $450-500 AUD.

Yeah the rates from australia to usa at the moment is not as bad as it use to be. Right now it is about 1 aus dollar = 80 cents US. The bad thing is...... shipping... Normally when i want to buy sumtin from usa i have to change the currency and then double it! But thanks for all the help guys.. I didnt get one reply in australia forums!!! well civics over here are popular but very rarely are they as mean as the ones you have in the US. Keep up the great work!
