Okay first off I am a mechanic and a few weeks ago a girl brought in her 94 GSR because it ran like crap. We'll to make a long story short her stock valves couldn't handle 10k rpm and she bent two exhaust valves. She said to fix it so I did, then when it came time to pay the bill she brought the title to the car because she didn't have the money to pay for it. So I bought the car for $600. Basically I did the labor for free and bought all the parts and the title is in my name now.
But now to the question, this car has a speed sensitive steering system that is fubar and I was wondering what it would take to change it out to a regular power steering rack. Do I just need the different rack off of an LS or what someone please help. This car is extremely hard to control on the highway and I am running out of available cash flow between this and my Civ. Thanks for your help

Damn dude, see being a mechanic has its ups and downs and the ups being we get shit like this for CHEAP. But doesnt happen often at my job.
Yeah just swap racks out of an LS and take the power steering out. P/S is overrated. |

I agree but driving this one now w/out it sucks hard core, it's very unpredictable, especially at high speeds.

Manual Steering > Power Steering
Steering is much easier with a manual rack than a hydraulic rack that is suppose to have fluid in it ![]() Hence my VX with manual steering ![]() |

I understand that, what i was saying is that i'm supposed to have power steering now, the rack has fluid going to it but it has a serious hard spot at high speeds thus making it unpredictable.
How much byou think an LS rack will cost??
