OK over the weekend i got my new shocks (Gr-2) and slipped my old coilovers on them and put everything in. The ride absolutly (sp) sucks. When i go over speed bumps and dips my rear end has a very very harsh recoil. The rear almost comes off the ground. So now i'm not sure what to do. I need to do it by next weekend so i don't blow my new shocks. So i'm thinking of getting some lowering springs instead of coilovers again. What i'm looking at is either the pro-kit or sportsline kit from Eibach. I have 17's so i don't want to get a spring and then still have a noticable gap between tire/fender. So what spring kit should i get? And do you think this will fix the harness in my ride? Please let me know what you think as i'm going to have to order them before the day is over so i can have them by the weekend.

my major thing is. I really don't trust lowering springs because you never know how low it's goingto put your car, But i don't want to buy some coilovers again and have the same problem. So i just don't know what to do. Buy some ground controls or buy some sportline springs.

the DR are stiff? is there any recoil in the rear? any bouce? my fronts are stiff ass hell. I think the problem mioght be the rears are too stiff and when they are un-compressing it's pushing the ca ups to much to fast. How much room of throw do you have on your shock while the car is lowered it looks like m y shocks only have 3" to move. i don't know but i can go around driving the car the way it is this year. It's fine most of the time but once i hit a dip i don't see i have to hold on for my life. Do you know anyone with the sportsline springs and 17's. I wanto see how low it sits.

GR2's and any coilover will make for a rough ride. I would go with sportlines for a decent drop with little wheel gap. Erik (Buck) has sportlines and 17's and it sets nice. Neuspee race springs will give you more of a slammed stance, but Neuspeed usually uses a stiffer spring rate than Eibach.

So you think i should go with the sports line kit. I'm going to need something i just want to see how low it's goingto sit. I don't want anything more the 2 fingers worth of a gap

hey mike, i'm not sure if they would fit your car, but i still have my H&R sport springs that i'm still looking to sell. They are brand new. maybe someone here would know if they would fit. they're supposed to lower about 2 inches. if they'll work and you want them, i could meet you somewhere...jackson outlets or something.

Maxspeed = junk quality eBay stuff

The GR-2s will be fine. They damp quite a few spring applications pretty well. Just don't try to use them with something significantly stiffer than stock. GR-2s are valved about 15% stiffer than stock shocks.

You might try checking your installation. You might have left a washer or two out of the spring seat / top hat... I'll bet the shaft on the shock is shooting all the way through the mount. Did you cut your bump stops? Did you leave them out? Cut the bumps a little bit (like half) and make sure they're in there. If you lower too much and don't have bump stops, you'll bounce off the metal of the shock body and break it.
