When I wash my car I usually notice my front brake rotors are covered in yellow dirt, like pollen is on them. It's usually more noticable after I am done washing the wheels. I took a rag to it and whiped it all off, but it keeps coming back.

Do you think it could be because of the cheap brake pads I bought a while ago, or are my rotors just dirty? How can I stop this from happening?

ive heard of the rotors gettin rust on them but ive never heard of the brake pads making the rotors yellow. i guess its a possibility but i highly doubt it.

seemes to me what your talking about is rust... When you wash the car and the rotors get wet they will get rust on the surface in an instant... but as soon as you hit the brakes the first time its gone. nothing to worry about

well I think it has something to do with the composition and type of material that the brakes are made of that make it rus so quick, either way its harmless and as soon as you drive your car 2 feet the problem will be solved.
