ok,
I just dropped my 95 coupe 1.5, I was washing my car today and I looked at it closely and it almost looked as if my tires were plopped out. I backed it into the driveway and it looked straight. I dont have a digital camera to take pics anymore but does a 1.5 drop usually cause camber issues?

I have 17's w/ 205/40/17 tires on em. I can fit my index finger thru the gap and thats about it. Im a skinny bastard I might add as well.

I dropped my 93 EX coupe 2" on coilovers keeping the factory shock travel and had a 1 degree change in camber. That was with 205/40/17's all around. If you used just springs you should a little more negative camber. The camber i have doesn't affect my tires. Hope this helps.

It doesn't matter if you lowered with "just springs" or adjustable length shocks- the geometry is still the same and the same amount of drop will yield the same amount of camber change.

Doughboy- when I dropped my Civic on Pro-Kits, it was about 1.5 inches down. I ran 195/50/15 tires on it. The camber was -1.6 degrees all around. I didn't have any funny wear issues with the tires until I got into some real power- then everything went to shit. The engine swap had me shredding the inside edge of the tires every 10k miles.

You should be about the same with your 205/40/17s, but I would be careful. The shorter sidewall means that you've got less deformation, so the same negative camber that was had no wear issues on my car might cause wear problems for you. I would invest in a good camber kit and set your suspension back to -1 degrees at the very most, unless you plan on taking your car to the track all the time (not drag).

I agree with you, skunk2 does make the best camber correction kits from what Ive heard. The front is the only part that bugs me a little. The rear looks fine. Im gonna keep checking my inner thread of the tire meanwhile to see how the tread is burning. Im not really running my car much at all as far as the track goes, and I dont race on the street. I havent built my car for performance so I wont be dealing with the same issues that you did with drag.

I have a 1.75" drop which gave me -.08 camber (I saw the numbers on the alignment machine). In 6 months the inside of my front tires were gone. The back tires aren't really that bad at all, but the front were horrible in only 6 months. I'm looking into camber kits as I write this. Ebay has the skunk2's for like $160, but also has some no-name ebay specials for around $80. I gotta get one now though.

I love my skunk2 kit. I was dropped 1.75" front and had camber wear. Make sure you get an alignment as soon as you get a camber kit.
