ok here is the deal i am looking at a set of tein springs for my 97 civic and the dealer says that the springs lower the car to 1.9 in the front and 1.7 in the rear so i was told i didn't need a camber kit just a wheel alignment is that true?

Maybe you should wait until the more professional guys come, but from what I have heard, i would not really be necessary. But then again, you will be told that its worth to do it right the first time.

if you're going to do it.. do it correctly, get a camber kit at least for the front where most of your weight is. Back tires are kinda jsut along for the ride. Proactive thinking now can save you a few hundred bucks in tire costs

i say just do it all around front and back if you plans on keeping the car for more than a few months. especially since the cost of a camber kit is about the same as a new set of tires.

i suggest a camber kit like eric said for atleast the front. that's the way i have mine. if you do not put a camber kit on your car..your tires will not last as long and to be..it looks alot better to someone who knows what's going on. do it right..get a camber kit. you wont be dissipointed.

Unless your an agressive driver.. Then the uneven camber benifits you in this aspect. Mine is dropped 1.5 all around and I had an allignment done and its working out fine.

I have a 2" drop and my tires wore fast, and the negative camber is very noticeable. There's alot of mixed views on this but here's my input:

Daily driver? Get a camber kit over 1.5" drop.
Drag racing? Get the kit still.
Road racing? Negative camber can benefit with your traction.

Now obviously if you read smooth imports' post, you'll see that results can vary. This is what I drive by, but you might feel differently.
