I live on oahu and the roads are absolute crap out here. I've driven in and thru NY and I would say the roads are equivelent. If the roads weren't so bad I think I would have a different opinion. Thanks for the advice, I was also reading some other poasts and it was said that the eibach anti sway bar set is good (sets the car up to be fairly neutral) with stiffer springs. Good advice to follow with the S-tech's?

I understand your bad roads. Trust me, downtown Houston isn't a cakewalk either. It's really all up to personal preference.

Sway bars are always a good thing to have- you can crank up your turning and roll stiffness quite a bit without going to springs that are too stiff. I have the Eibach kit on my Civic, and combined with the poly bushings and Tein FLEX kit, the handling really is very neutral.

It's a crazy story, well not really. Just jumped on dogpile, did a search for ciciv forums, and came up with this one. Seemed to be a wealth of info on here so here I am. Is this a local forum?

Nope- not a local forum. We just don't have many members in Hawaii! We're national, so don't worry. We just have concentrations of members in different areas- largely the New England area, some in California, some in Florida, some in Texas. Information about the site travels by word of mouth more than anything, so it makes sense that there are lots of localized pockets of members. I think it's awesome that you found us by hitting up a search engine!

Ya it's cool I found this forum, there is a wealth of knowledge here. Maybe I can start a Hawaiian pocket...I found a full set of KYB AGX's for $365 shipped to Hawaii but I can not afford springs also. Should I wait to install the shocks or should I use SI springs and enjoy upgraded handling?

I would wait to install the shocks, unless you don't mind doing it all twice.

Getting Hawaii people on board would be good.

Yes, the Omnipower setup we're talking about is a full coilover setup.

If you want close to a stock ride, go with Tein S.Tech springs and some KYB AGX or GR-2 shocks.* You'll get the mild drop, slightly stiffer (not really) spring rates, and not spend too much money.* If you think the Tein FLEX and poly bushings are harsh- man.* I think my setup rides pretty well.
I agree...the tein s-tech are good springs especially with the gr2;s, i had that setup on my car for a little while, till i had to raise it up to fit the slicks.
