I am new to the civic and I am trying to plan out my path for suspension upgrades. I want my ride to be close to stock with 1"-1.5" drop (I understand it is give a little take a little). I will be rolling 205x50x16's on all corners. The questions come in with your recommendations on shocks (seems tokico HP's are pretty sweet along with the KYB AGX's), springs (thinking Tein or Neuspeed), anti sway bars (I want the car to be responsive and neutral as possible so I was thinking a rear anti sway bar larger than the front), and bracing (Neuspeed front strut tower brace with a rear x brace, front and rear lower tie bars). I want to put it together for around $1k. My car is a 97 DX hatch with zero mods and I only intend to use my car for daily driving with a little fun on the back roads. I already have an intolerable track car (that is why I bought the Honda). Thanks guys!

i like the omni-powers excellent set up, shocks are great, and extremely adjustable.(ride height and spring rate i mean, the shocks arent adjustable.)

Omnipower has had trouble with breaking shock bodies lately... but they said that they're fixing the problem. If they fix it, Omnipower definitely has some of the best value suspension bits out on the market.

205/50/16 is WAY too tall for your 97 DX. You need to go to a 205/45/16.

Actually omni just got the new bodies finished...they look pretty beefy if you ask me...i guess they are supposed to be like 20mm thick when they were 2mm thick.

Awesome. I can't wait to see someone cut them apart and show the new beefy wall.

Omni power, I have never heard of them, I'll have to research them. If 205x50x16 is too big then perhapse 205x50x15? What about the anti sway bars, should I buy a matched set from eibach or neuspeed or mix and match my own setup (30mm front 22mm rear)?

I am looking for a fairly close to stock ride, I have flexes on my other car and it doesn't make for the most comfortable ride (poly bushings may also have something to do with that). The Omnipower is a coilover setup I take it.

Yes, the Omnipower setup we're talking about is a full coilover setup.

If you want close to a stock ride, go with Tein S.Tech springs and some KYB AGX or GR-2 shocks. You'll get the mild drop, slightly stiffer (not really) spring rates, and not spend too much money. If you think the Tein FLEX and poly bushings are harsh- man. I think my setup rides pretty well.
