So, I know what I want for a setup. I am broke rite now but I want my car a little lower (nothing absurd). My friend has a set of stock SI springs from his 99(which I would imagine have a stiffer spring rate than my 97 DX Hatch springs). I am willing to pull everything apart and put on the SI's (I am almost positive they will be a direct swap). How bad would it be if I cut them down a little bit (maybe an inch and a half) with the stock shocks (still good). I would imagine the SI springs would probably cause the car to ride higher due to them being stiffer. Is this one of the deadly sins in the land of the civic? I only plan on rolling like this for a few months till I can afford the real deal (Tein and KYB AGX's) Thanks again guys!

Get yourself a set of H&R's, you can find them on ebay for roughly $120-150

it's ok to use with stock shocks? I don't want my car to be a see saw when going over imperfections in the road. Figgured stock springs would prevent that, just can't load my car up with a gang of clowns =P

O yeah, I am broke rite now, so would it work for the next few months or is it a lost cause? It doesn't cost money for me to pull the stock springs off and put cut down SI springs on...

DO NOT CUT SPRINGS. Get yourself some H&R's...not that expensive, and great springs. Your ride quality and handling will be infinitely better than cut SI springs. Your stock shocks will be fine for a while, so you have time to save money for them.

Yeah your shocks will be fine, Like most parts on Hondas they are almost indestructable
Later on you can find youself a set of shocks from $300 or so. I must admit it would be much easier killing two birds with one stone and do it all at one time. |

2 birds with one stone would be sweet but I don't mind the practice, builds up my throwing arm
So would it be ok to get the Tein springs (S.tech's)? |
