I often get compliments on how clean my car mats and carpet is in my car, and how it smells good. Well the secret is that I clean them. I am not talking about spraying some shitty foam scrubbing a little and vacuming and saying its clean. I dont think so. Do you actually think that dirt is leaving your carpet? Nope it's just being moved around, and hidden with a fragrance. So I am writing this diy on how to really clean your carpets.
Suppies Needed: Hose, Liquid detergent, A coarse brush, and lots of gatorade. ![]() Ok Here is the dirty mat. ![]() First thing you we need to do is to beat the shit out of the mat with a stick or slam it into a wall several times to knock out all of the loose shit and dirt in the mat. After this step We need to hose off the mats sort of like a pre rinse. You will notice that it will foam like soap was already in it. This is the old carpet cleaning spray that was used before trapped into the carpet. ![]() Then we will pour a generous amount of liquid detergent onto each one ans scrub the shit out of each one the detergent will start to foam a nasty color depending on how dirty the mat is. ![]() Then after you have scrubbed to your satisfaction it's time to rinse. Be sure to rinse till the water runs clear and there is no soap residue, If you leave it on there it will start to smell like rotten soap after a few days. After the rinse just sit back and enjoy your like new mats. Oh yeah hang them to dry for 24 hrs . ![]() ![]() James |
