Again guys, remember you are the heart of CL, you are the guys that care enough to make shit happen.

To recap our conversation, here's what you will need to do when using a DIY from another site or writing your own.

1) Find the DIY

2) copy the diy (if you want a hint, if you are a member of the board/site your getting the diy from, just hit "quote" you'll get all the picture code as well as the diy and inproper order, if your not a member.. join.)

3) right click > save as > all the pictures

4) put all your pictures into a folder and zip them up (or rar).

5) Next start a new thread in the vsquad area. Label the thread as clearly and specifically as possible.

6) Paste in thre DIY

7) Since murat physically will be going behind you and filling in the BB code for the pictures you need to mark where they go through out the DIY. I feel the best way to do this is the following

Code:
Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content Content [img] DSCN4643.JPG[/img] Content content content

8) email them to murat. forgot murats email address, i'll post it up in a bit It is very important that you email murat the link of where your DIY is to associate that link with the pintures your sending him at that time.

9) thats it we'll make sure their good then you or me can move them to the proper area.

Special thanks to murat (aka vtec_power) he is going out on a limb to comit himself to manage all the files and uploading them. Thank you very much. Remember it means a lot to us, esp when it starts to drive you nuts.

(murat please CC me a copy of the zip files)

mike the only time you would have to ask for permission is like for example the AEM install you did for AEM/HS then yeah it's sensitive information etc. If people post the information on a public board it's free use. Obviously it doesn't hurt to have permission but nothing they can do if we use it . It's out there to do exactly what we're doing with the information anyway. Just cite the source and author

Ok, just make sure to cite everything... you never know when information on a site is original stuff that someone there wrote or just random junk that people have been cutting/pasting. It's always good to give credit to the author.

Ok.

I'm "dumping" everything right now to a share as I pack to head to Houston...

http://webspace.utexas.edu/vryce/cl_tech_dump

There's a ton of stuff in there- please please please use your best judgment when deciding to use any of the content, because I'm not sure how many personal files are going to make it up there with the upload batch. Before you start posting stuff up, please make sure you get some kind of approval from me first. I'll be online a lot more starting next week, so I'll be on every day or two (at least) to look at stuff that people have time to put together.

There's also a ton more information that I have to organize and upload- it's just in an even more disorganized state than what you'll see in the above link.

It's all writeups, random tech info that I've saved here and there, some tech info that I've organized- and personal information in the form of car related stuff, car forum related stuff etc. It was all in a "Car Stuff" directory on my hard drive.
