Thanks to remington870_20ga For This Article!!
Ok, here are step by step instructions on the rear strut bar of a 96'-00' Civic. This is also extremely easy to do as is the front strut bar. It is the same concept of the front strut bar but the rear strut also significantly reduces body roll in the back of the car. Before you start, you are going to need deep socket bits. It would also be in your favor to have a good quality ratchet set. Be aware that some strut bars might utilize hex bolts like the ones in the pictures you will see. Install time is 5-15 minutes Also, DO NOT lift your car or jack it up. Leave it on the ground. 1. Here is a rear strut bar. It should look similar to this. Image_01 2. The top of the suspension (where you want to install the bar) is located inside your trunk behind the carpet. Once you find it, your going to need to cut a hole for the strut bar. Image_02 3. Cut a nice even square in the hole so it will look clean. You may cut a complete square out but as you see in the picture it is a square flap. Do the same to the other side. Image_03 4. This is what it should look like. Now, you are going to need a deep socket wrench to remove the outer 2 bolts (NOT THE CENTER BOLT!). Also do the same on the other side. Image_04 5. Once you mount the rear strut bar and have it properly lined and fitted, hand tighten the bolts as far as you can go. Once the same is done to the other side, tighten the bolts back down tightly, keep in mind not to strip the posts. Image_05 6. Here is what your job well done should look like. Image_06 7. Make sure it looks OK and close your trunk. Now, go take some heavy turns!!! Image_07 Sourced from www.hondacivicforum.com -hks... i'll do it this time but next time the dimensions of the pics gotta be 800 x 600 (will edit pics in later)
