hi, Im from Cape Town South Africa and own a black Honda CRX SiR Dohc Vtec, been searching the net for a problem im having with my CRX.
I replaced my stock exhaust with an aftermarket one, my countrys emission laws aren't strict at the moment so I completely removed the catalytic converter, problem is the O2 sensor which connected into the cat, was unplugged when we installed the new exhaust, we made a hole in the pipe and managed to fit the O2 sensor in the exhaust piping but the cat warning light is on in my dashboard and only switches off when i reach a speed over 160km... I've read that it affects performance, is there anyway i can disconnect it and remove that light that displays... I'm still running the factory ECU with limiter. Thanks in advance. |

Your best bet would be to plug the bung in the piping with a plug, Then just zip tie the O2 sensor under the car. Whats happening is that the ECU it getting reading that your cat isn't working (because you don't have one) the exhuast isn't being filter fromt the cat. So if you just zip tie it under the car the O2 will read cold cleaan air and your ECU willl think your cat is there and working correctly.

yes, adjusts your air fuel mixture according to the reading it gets from the sensor

Dependins if we are talking about your primairy or secondary o2. sence you say it's after your cat i would think it's your secondary and it's thats the case then no it doesn't have anything to do with your fuel mixture, but if it is your priamry then yes as stated above, But it will just make you run alittle rich doing what i stated above, It will not harm you in anyway.
